Drill instructor convicted after rifle jams
This is a problem that I experienced with three different NEW out-of-the-box M1As and that I alluded to in an earlier thread.
It seems trigger groups can malfunction and cause "doubles" or in this case "triples" especially if the sear is polished to facilitate a finer trigger let-off or if your handloads are too light!....and if it does, NOW you can be convicted of illegally owning a machine gun! "Guardsman guilty of illegally transferring 'machine gun' after firearm malfunctions"... http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/ar...TICLE_ID=59650 |
Re: Drill instructor convicted after rifle jams
I find it so hard to stomach that a jury went along with this.
And the ATF being so intent on prosecuting a national guardsman is an extra sick twist. |
Re: Drill instructor convicted after rifle jams
If his lawyer couldn’t raise the issue of intent ( or lack thereof ) his lawyer should be locked away right alongside the Guardsman.
But realistically, somewhere along the proceedings, all charges should have been dropped. |

Re: Drill instructor convicted after rifle jams
If this is the way the "authorities" intend to roll, what will the unintended consequences be..?

No, not all. This is true.
There are vicious dogs put down every year too. They know how to handle the troublemakers. |
